I am still awake after getting no sleep at all. It's early morning and if I go to sleep now, my boy won't get up in time for Kindergarten. So I might as well stay up now.

I am looking for a sewing table. I do not want to get a fold up table. They aren't sturdy enough when you start sewing. I borrowed one and I hated it when I was sewing. We have been in this new home of ours for about 3 weeks now and I am wanting my sewing machine out. Now that we have the room, I can get a sewing table without having to use the dining room table. It's great! I am on Ebay looking at Sergers for sewing cloth diapers. I have sewn a few and really want to try with a Serger.

I found this site a few years ago and have gleaned information about homemaking and being a better person from this woman. She is amazing. She has a wonderful ministry and invite you to take a peak at her site.

I can't tell you how anxious I am to get started on a lot of projects I have going on. I am knitting a baby blanket for the new baby, but ran out of yarn. The yarn store that carries this particular yarn is kinda far so I haven't made the trip yet. I am in the middle of sewing cloth diapers and stopped because we were moving and I wanted to wait until I got more supplies. I have completed the quilt top for my baby girl before she was born and haven't gotten around to quilting it yet. She is almost 2 now. I painted the kitchen yellow today because I was bored and had the creative strike in me. I am on a baking frenzy also. I am planning my baby shower and have pictures saved for the baby cake that I want to bake and use fondant as the top. I have never used fondant before so this is going to be interesting. I am also on a cooking streak. I want to can vegetables for the winter and for when I'm stuck inside with a newborn. I want to start a vegetable garden so I can save more money. I have a mudpit in my backyard along the back fence that I am trying to figure out what to plant to save the grass and keep my big dog from jumping at the fence at the kids playing in the park that is on the other side of my fence.
He is a Neopolitan Mastiff. He doesn't want at the kids, he just jumps and barks to let them know he is there. He's such a goob! He is such a big baby. Anytime we go outside and he stays inside, he whines because we left him.

My dear husband has gotten his hours changed once again at work. He is on days for the next 2 weeks until everyone else at his job comes back from their assignment. Then he goes back to nights. I like him on days because then we get to see him like a real family, but seeing how we have only one vehicle right now, it's hard not having the truck during the day to do my running around that needs to be done. Oh well. We will survive!

I am Elinor Dashwood!

Take the Quiz here!

This is a neat quiz!

I am doing good in my 6th month of pregnancy. I am having some major pain, but I think it is only because this is my 3rd full pregnancy and everything is just already stretched and ready to go. So I am trying to take it easy lately. Not too much walking around. That makes it worse for days. I am trying to not pick up my toddler, but she is just so cute that it is hard to not pick her up when she wants her mommy.

Here are my adorable two children playing outside in our backyard. It was such a beautiful week! We are having a few of these printed out to hang on our wall.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Finances

The ugly "f" word! I have been trying unsuccessfully for more than 4 years to get a hold on my spending and our finances. Just when I think that I have done so well and wrote everything thing down that we have spent and tallied up the totals, I find something on our online banking website that I completely forgot to write down. And therefore leads to overdraft charges. It's very defeating to have to go through this. It feels like I shouldn't even worry about it and just let it do this every payday. But I know better.

Today starts my husband's new work schedule. He has been working nights his whole 10 years with his work. But the last month he has been working days. Now he is going back to nights. Since we only have one vehicle, I am looking forward to getting access to the vehicle during the day when I need it to avoid rush hour traffic! When I start working is when we will have conflicts. We need to work something out.

I have been looking at growing a vegetable garden here in the fall. Since I live in the gardening zone where our fall and winter is like a second planting season. We do not have any frost. So after our maintenance guy comes to fix the sprinkler system in our back yard, I am going to scope out a good spot and figure out how to keep the big dogs out of it. I've already got an idea of what I want to plant. I'm going to plant broccoli, carrots, garlic, leeks, onions, parsley, peas, potatoes, and some shallots. I'm looking forward to it. It's nice and cool out there right now. I should get started. But the planning stage is first.

Okay। Today's agenda। Monday:

* call in maintenance requests.

* laundry- catch up and couch blankets

* dishes

* sweep and mop downstairs floors

* vacuum downstairs

* sweep front and back patio

* plan vegetable garden

Here is a new TV series that is amazing. I love this show! I have to admit that I am a reality show watcher. I have read Kimora's book Fabulosity. I loved it. The book and the show inspire me as a woman to not sit on my duff and expect my husband to hand my happiness to me. He works all day. He is in the military. Military pay is not much. I have tastes. I have a comfort of living that I want for my kids. I want them to be able to participate in school sports. Living off of just his income, we are not able to do these things.

Kimora represents the drive and ambition that I need. Her two adorable kids are fashion icons also and they aren't old enough to drive yet. It is very hard trying to raise kids and also raise a company to your standards as she has shown. But she takes the time to include her kids and is very approachable with her kids. I find that refreshing to see a powerhouse woman able to stay in contact on a daily basis with her kids and run the show in her career.

Please take the time to watch her new show. She is very over-the-top, glamorous, and very opinionated. And that is exactly what is cool about her! People think that mothers with young kids should not be trying to "have it all". And I say to that, "Why not?!" Put a little fabulosity in your life!

Entertaining

I came across this wonderful lady who loves to entertain. She has an amazing blog that you have to check out. It's called "4 Reluctant Entertainers". It just so happens that we are also entertaining today. We are having a Labor Day BBQ. We have invited some of our friends from his work and our new neighbors. We have only been here a week. Our new neighbors are actually rolling their grill over to our house so we can all be in the shade together. We will also fire up our grill. My husband is baking the beef ribs right now before they go on the grill. I made Southern Potato Salad and Deviled Eggs. Our neighbors across the street also made Deviled Eggs. You can never have too many! I am just popping in here before our guests start arriving. My baby girl is napping and my son is watching cartoons. I have already changed clothes, fixed my makeup and done my toe nails and my finger nails. We're all set. I will set out the tablecloth once guests start arriving. We love to entertain. It is our favorite thing to do. Our summers are spent entertaining outdoors and our winters are spent entertaining with dinners. We are so lucky to have such an abundance of friends who love to be apart of our get-togethers. Well, I better go now. Everyone have a wonderful Labor Day!
